in the wake of a phenomenal war in a world far different from our own, two sides of one coin, the technological and intelligent Vernae, humans fighting against a very different, "gifted", folk known as the Tai-yem, also humans but who possess very magical abilities. the world is almost destroyed by poisonous viruses constructed by the vernae. all those remaining are forced to flee to the large island separated by sea known as Amondure.

sixty-two years after the forced peace is placed upon the land separated between these two races, both sides are existing as best they can, waiting for the viruses and curses to die off on the mainland.
